A classy Moynalvey side had little difficulty in disposing of Clann Na nGael to claim the Minor League division 2 title at Pairc Tailteann on Sunday afternoon May 22nd.

Moynalvey with four county minors, Anthony Forde, Padraic Harnan,James Kelly and Cillian O'Sullivan, on board led at half time 2-3 to 1-2 despite playing against a strong wind. Clann Na nGael where first to score when Aaron Ennis pointed. Goals from James Kelly, after a great run by Brian Harnan and Dara Griffin left the score after fifteen minutes 1-2 to 1-1 in favour of the Athboy side. Moynalvey's superiorty began to show and points from Cathal McCabe and Kelly followed by an O'Sullivan goal left them four points up at the break. 

Playing with the elements and the outstanding Padraic Harnan controlling proceeding Moynalvey outscored their opponents 1-7 to 0-1 in the second half. Clann Na nGael's only score came in the opening minute when Colm Carney sent over. When Cillian O'Sullivan got in for his second goal the game was as good as over with fifteen minutes left on the clock.

Best for the winners were their four county men Forde, Harnan, Kelly and O'Sullivan and they got great support from full back Shane Brown midfielder Sean Burke and cathal McCabe and Brian Harnan in the fowards. Oran Fitzpatrick, Ciaran Fitzsimons David Smith and Colm Carney impressed for Clann Na nGael.
