A PRE-SEASON strength and conditioning workshop will take place on Monday February 4th at 7pm in the Newgrange Hotel in Navan.
This workshop, organised by Meath Local Sports Partnership is aimed at coaches, players, athletes, managers and sports people alike who are involved with teams and individual sports from U-16 to senior level.
The speakers on the night will include:
Keith Hennessy (Setanta College Sports Lecturer & Strength & Conditioning coach Tippperary Minor Hurling All Ireland Champions 2012)
Martina McCarthy (DCU Performance Manager & Dublin & Armagh GAA)
Alan Heary (DCU Sport Science & Health. Peak performance consultant, qualified hypnotherapist, NLP Practitioner, Stress Management Consultant and cycling coach.)
MC for the evening will be Colm Keys (Sports journalist with Irish Independent).
The night’s topics will look at and discuss techniques and drills to improve the physical conditioning of players; how to motivate individuals and teams; and how to perform fitness tests.
Most teams and athletes are in the process of starting to go back training, this workshop will provide an excellent opportunity for coaches and trainers to pick up some new ideas and assist them in planning the strength and conditioning element of their training sessions.
