Moynalvey under 12 girls team captured the county title in this thrilling encounter against Skryne played on Saturday, September 8th.
Moynalvey 2 – 1 Skryne 1 – 1
This was a very exciting match dominated by two excellent sets of defenders. The only score of the first half came from a Kate Lawless free which ended up in the net on the stroke of half time.

Aoife Weston added a point early in the second half, before Skryne came back to score a fine goal. Moynalvey replied immediately when Aoife Weston gathered ball on the halfway line, soloed all the way up the field and drove the ball into the net.

A pointed free from Skryne ended the scoring in a real championship struggle as the Moynalvey girls held a gallant Skryne scoreless for the final ten nerve wracking minutes.

After losing several finals over the last five years, it was great to finally win one. Great credit to both teams especially the two defences for a very exciting match.
