Moynalvey’s U-21 side suffered a disappointing defeat at the hands of a strong St. Colmcilles outfit in the semi-final of the U-21 ‘B’ football championship at Ashbourne on Sunday afternoon last.
.
Moynalvey 0-4 St. Colmcilles 1-14
.
Despite playing with a strong wind at their backs, Moynalvey failed to use it to their advantage as they fell 6 points behind in the opening half. It wasn’t until the final third of the half that Moynalvey registered on the score board with a James Weldon free, and tagged on three more before the break from Weldon & Ray Ryan (2).
.
After the interval, the East Meath outfit were much more economical with the ball, letting the wind do the work for a lot of scores as they registered 1-8 without response to coast home easy winners in the end.
