Wolfe Tones 4-19
Leading by a goal at half time and five points up three minutes into the second half, the concession of four second half goals saw Moynalvey lose out by eleven points at full time.
Points from Shane Lenehan and Shaun Deering on the end of a good team move which could easily have went under the cross bar as over gave Moynalvey an early two point lead.
Padraig Diamond opened his sides account in the 12th minute and two minutes later the sides were level when Thomas Blaney pointed.
Three Wolfe Tones points from Thomas Blaney, Laochra Ó Fionnagáin and Eanna O’Kelly-Lynch with Moynalvey responding with two David McLoughlin frees left it four points apiece with 21 minutes played.
The first of the game’s eight goals came in the 25th minute when a Stephen Donoghue shot at goal was deflected a couple of times and bobbled its way across Trevor Browne’s goal line.
Frees from David McLoughlin and Ray Ryan had Moynalvey five points ahead with 31 minutes played, 1-6 to 0-4.
There was still time for former county player Cian Ward to add a brace, leaving the goal between the sides at half time 1-6 to 0-6.
Ward continued where he left off upon the restart pointing within the first minute; with half time substitute Brian O’Reilly replying for the home side a minute later.
Thomas Blaney fired over for Tones, before the game’s second goal came from regular Moynalvey goal keeper Ray Ryan lining out at corner forward, leaving five between the sides once again, 2-7 to 0-8.
Following a Sarán Ó Fionnagáin point the game then completely turned in favour of the visitors. A second Ray Ryan goal and a McLoughlin free narrowed the deficit to two points, but Tones now with all the momentum hit 1-7 without reply, the goal coming from Eanna O’Kelly-Lynch and some exquisite points from the game’s top scorer Cian Ward.
