Celebrations to mark the 25th anniversary of Meath’s 1988 All-Ireland SFC triumph will kick start Navan’s Spiegeltent Festival next Wednesday, June 19th. Navan Town Council will host the ‘Royal Gathering’ which will honour the achievement of the Joe Cassells captained outfit which defeated Cork by 0-13 to 0-12 after a replay to claim back-to-back All-Ireland titles. MC for the evening will be Hector O hEochagain and Sean Boylan and his players will be guests of honour.
The evening, which is timed to start at 7pm, will feature an outdoor gourmet BBQ, wine reception and music by the Swinging Blue Cats.
Tickets €25 are on sale at The Solstice Centre and Navan Town Council’s offices.
The 10-day Navan Speigeltent Festival gets underway the following night with Jack L starting off a series of concerts by top Irish acts.
