Moynalvey maintained their unbeaten run in the Div. 4 premier football championship with a 10 point win over hosts Ballivor in round 6 played Sunday afternoon 12th June.

The win sees Moynalvey secure top place in the Div. 4 table with the final round yet to be played, with a semi-final place also guaranteed.
It was Ballivor who flew out of the blocks opening up a four point lead after five minutes, points from Joe McLaughlin (2), Cillian Canavan and Kevin Kelly.
Moynalvey’s first score came in the 7th minute when centre forward Darren Brennan finished a swift handpassing move to the back of Ballivor ‘keeper Thomas Raleigh’s net.
Shaun Deering equalized with a point from play in the 14th minute and two minutes later a Vinny Walsh free put Moynalvey in the lead for the first time, 1-2 to 0-4.
Richard Sherrock placed a low ball past Moynalvey goalkeeper Chris O’Malley for the home side’s first goal in the 17th minute.
A somewhat fortuitous goal when the flight of the ball from a Conor Quinn point attempt deceived Ballivor goalie Thomas Raleigh raised Moynalvey’s second green flag of the afternoon, giving them the lead again, one they weren’t to relinquish.
A ’45 from Moynalvey goalkeeper Chris O’Malley and a converted mark from Ballivor full forward Steffan Kelly rounded off the half’s scoring leaving visitors Moynalvey a point up at half time, 2-3 to 1-5.
An excellent second half performance from Moynalvey saw them outscore the home side 2-8 to 1-2, with the switch of Michael Brady to full forward from midfield yielding 2-1 seeing him top scorer.
By the time Ballivor’s Richard Sherrock pointed in the 18th minute of the half Moynalvey had already opened up a 10 point lead on their opponents. Points from Paul Corcoran, Ciaran Harnan and that 2-1 from Michael Brady meant Moynalvey led 4-6 to 1-5 with at the three quarter mark.
A further pair of Moynalvey points from Vinny Walsh and Ciaran Harnan followed Sherrock’s free to leave 11 points between the sides with 51 minutes played, 4-8 to 1-6.
Three Shaun Deering frees were countered by 1-1 from Ballivor’s Steffan Kelly to leave the full time score 4-11 to 2-7.
Best for the winners were Charlie McCormack, David Donoghue, Darren Brennan and top scorer Michael Brady.
