The concession of a goal two minutes from time meant Moynalvey lost this Junior C championship tie played in driving wind and rain in Dunsany on Tuesday, June 19th.

Moynalvey 4 – 4 Skryne 3 – 8

The first half was a tight affair with Moynalvey opening the scoring from a Raymond Ryan free and further points from Simon Courtney and Denis Hoban which sandwiched a Shane Collins goal, left it 1 – 3 apiece at the interval.

Skryne took the upper hand early in the second half with a second goal and a couple of points to surge five points clear. Moynalvey rallied with 2 goals from Ryan and a goal and a point from Collins to leave them 4 points clear entering the last 10 minutes. Best for Moynalvey were Martin Knightly, David Kane and Sean Weston who excelled in defence, Benny Dixon in midfield and the entire half forward line who accounted for 4 – 3 between them.
