The visiting side were first to register on the score board in the 2nd minute, before Moynalvey raced into a three point lead courtesy of points from Stephen Donoghue, Cathal Sheridan(2)& Daniel Treacy. Na Fianna then levelled things up when finding the net in the 13th minute. The remainder of the half saw Moynalvey post a further two points, in return to 1-4 from Na Fianna leaving the home side trailing on a score line of 2-5 to 0-6 at the interval.

Within three minutes of the restart Na Fianna furthered their advantage to seven points. The move of Willie Byrne into the forward line sparked the rest of his colleagues into life with Moynalvey rattling off seven unanswered points through Ciaran Ennis, David Durkan(2), Stephen Donoghue & three from Byrne himself. In the 52nd minute with the scores tied on 0-13 to 2-7, Na Fianna looked to have the game sown up when adding the next two points, only for Moynalvey to snatch victory with points from Stephen Donoghue, Byrne & Brian Gilsenan.
