Moynalvey suffered a comprehensive 10 point defeat at the hands of Ratoath on a 2-10 to 0-6 score line in Div. 2 of the B League at Sean Eiffe Park Ratoath on Monday evening September 3rd.

The home side opened the scoring in the 2nd minute before Moynalvey wing half forward Anthony Brien sent over to restore parity between the sides. A 10 minute period passed with neither side scoring, before Ratoath took the lead once again when pointing in the 14th minute. By the time Ciaran Ennis posted Moynalvey’s second score of the evening in the 20th minute Ratoath had added 0-3 to their tally, to lead 0-4 to 0-2. Ratoath furthered their half time advantage to three points when pointing with almost the last play of the opening 30 minutes.
Two minutes into the second period Moynalvey reduced the deficit to two points when Ciaran Ennis converted a free kick after Darragh Brannigan was fouled. However this was as close as Moynalvey got to Ratoath as the home side kicked on to reel off 1-5 without reply between the 34th and 56th minutes. Moynavey tagged on a few late points courtesy of William Harnan, Anthony Brien and Donal Smith but the final nail was put in the Moynalvey coffin when Ratoath raised their second green flag of the evening in the 59th minute, leaving the a far superior Ratoath team running out comfortable winners on a 2-10 to 0-6 score line.
