Moynalvey slumped to a heavy eighteen point defeat at the hands of Wolfe Tone in this Junior ‘B’ Championship Preliminary Quarter Final played at Skryne on Thursday night last August 28th.

Moynalvey never really posed any threat to a far superior Wolfe Toners outfit who after the first 30 minutes had their qualification to the quarter final proper secured. The Kilberry based side led 2-8 to 0-2 at the break with their first half goals coming from David O’Neill and Conor Sheppard, while Moynalvey’s two first half points came from Robbie Quinlan and Donal Smith.
Moynalvey second half scoring total fared only one point better their trio of points coming from Darragh Branigan, Donal Smith and substitute Shaun Deering. The Tones added a further 1-6 to their tally in the second half, with their third goal coming courtesy of a soccer style finish from Padraig Diamond just two minutes after the restart, leaving them comfortable eighteen point winners on a 3-14 to 0-5 score line.
