Moynalvey overcame a sending off as well as a strong second half comeback from Dunshaughlin to eventually secure the victory in this B league Division 3 game played in Moynalvey on Saturday, June 28th.
Moynalvey 3 – 8 Dunshaughlin 1 – 10
Moynalvey were on top for the majority of the first half and goals from Martin Ryan and Simon Courtney as well as points from Ryan (2), Courtney, Shane Collins and Shane Reilly left the half time score at 2 – 5 to 0 – 4 in the hosts favour.
However, on the resumption Dunshaughlin rallied and eventually drew level at 2 – 7 to 1 – 10 after successfully converting a penalty, Moynalvey’s 2 points having come from Reilly and Collins. Martin Ryan was then dismissed for Moynalvey but the 14 men managed to score a well worked goal through Ger McHale whilst a Martin Knightly point secured the final 4 point winning margin.
