Moynalvey 8-14 Clan Na nGael 6-06
Clan Na nGael took a while to settle but when they did they came back into the game strongly and two late first half goals left six between the teams at half time, 4-06 to 3-03.
Clan started the second half strongly and reduced the Moynalvey lead to 3 points and looked to be taking control of the match until Moynalvey captain Robert Lawless gathered the ball on his own 40 yard line and ran the length of the pitch before shooting to the back of the net. Further goals, two penalties for O’ Connor and a brilliant effort from Brian O’Reilly put the game out of Clan Na nGaels reach. This was a brilliant performance from Moynalvey and they now look forward to the championship where they will face Blackhall Gaels in the first round.
