On the 28th March 2016, A Comoradh event on The Hill of Tara celebrated reading of the proclamation, in which Moynalvey GFC Underage Players participated. Donal O Hannigan the commander of the Louth Meath forces for 1916 had mobilised men from all areas to meet on the Hill of Tara, however an order from Owen McNeil to call of the activities came through. It had been the intention to read the proclamation from the Hill of Tara, then march where they would meet Sean Boylan and the Dunboyne men. Thousands gathered yesterday to relive the events and to read the proclamation. The GAA activities were central to the celebrations for girls and boys including Moynalvey under-14s who played and trained under Trevor Giles. Each family received a native Irish tree, Oak,birch or Rowan ash to remember this special day.
