Moynalvey defeated Simonstown on a 2-11 to 1-10 scoreline in the Junior ‘C’ quarter-final played in Dunderry Friday evening.

The sides were level at half-time 1-4 each. Simonstown’s goal came from full-forward David Gormley after a fine pass from wing-forward Justin Flynn.
The first half was a tight affair as the side were level at 1-4 apiece at half time, with PJ Walsh top scoring for Moynalvey with 1-3 from play during the opening period.
Walsh bagged another goal in the second half and he along with the introduction of Cathal Sheridan and Ger Fagan helped Moynalvey to victory. Best for the winners were Anthony Forde, Darren Brennan and PJ Walsh.
Simonstown could never equalise but centre forward Daryl Murray did his best with a contribution of six points, four of which came from play.
In defence Brendan Quinn played well for Simonstown as did Graham Cooke and Alan Meade at centre-field.
