Moynalvey defeated Drumbaragh by six points in Moynalvey on Sunday to move joint top of the A league Division 4 alongside St Vincents and Moylagh.

Moynalvey stormed out of the blocks and points from Willie Byrne and two Cathal Sheridan frees left it 3 points to no score after ten minutes. Drumbaragh then settled and got their first score but with Ger Fagan in outstanding form in the middle of the field, it provided the platform for further points from play by Byrne, Sheridan, Damian Dixon, John Donoghue and PJ Walsh as well as another Sheridan free to leave Moynalvey ahead by 0 – 9 to 0 – 5 at the break.
With the elements favouring Drumbaragh in the second period, the deficit was down to the minimum when the visitors got the first three scores of the second half. However, Moynalvey responded with a Sheridan free and a magnificent PJ Walsh goal putting them five points ahead. Drumbaragh again responded with two points but further points from Byrne, Sheridan as well as a goal and a point from Brian Conneely meant Moynalvey opened up an 8 point lead entering the closing stages. Drumbaragh recorded the last couple of scores but were a beaten team by this stage.
Best for Moynalvey were man of the match Ger Fagan, Padraig Donoghue, Paul Weldon, Sheridan and Ciaran Ennis.
