Moynalvey outscored Na Fianna to claim the Ideal Bathrooms sponsored JFC C title at Pairc Tailteann on Friday night September 9th.

Paul Harnan’s charges finished with eight points to spare to reclaim a title their second team last held in 2003.
The scores were tied four times in the opening half which ended with Moynalvey leading by 2-5 to 1-4.
Thereafter Moynalvey outscored Na Fianna by 0-7 to 0-3 with all of the losing side’s second-half scores coming from David Killoran frees.
By the end eight different Moynalvey players were on the scoresheet, including substitutes Peter Durnin and Eoin Maher.
Ciaran Ennis top scored with 1-4 for Moynalvey with his goal coming after a mistake by Na Fianna ‘keeper Sean Coyle in the 14th minute.
To their credit Na Fianna recovered from that setback with a brilliant solo goal from John Farrell five minutes later.
When the same player pointed in the 29th minute, the scores were tied for the fourth and final time, 1-4 each.
Moynalvey made what proved to be a decisive break just before half-time with an Alan Donnelly point followed in stoppage time by a Padraic Harnan goal.
Points from play from Ennis and Durnin bookended Killoran’s first point from a free. When impressive midfielder Donal Smith sent over six points separated the sides, 2-8 to 1-5, with 42 minutes gone.
Killoran’s penultimate point left five in it midway through the second-half, but that was as good as it got for the side representing Baconstown,Enfield and Rathmolyon.
‘Keeper Coyle prevented Maher from getting in for Moynalvey’s third goal while the men in maroon closed the scoring with points from Maher and William Harnan.
During a closely contested opening quarter, the scores were tied three times, Moynalvey struck a vital blow for honours with Ennis’ aforementioned goal.
The opening three minutes produced as many scores with Fergie Foran pointing Na Fianna in front for the only time inside the first 60 seconds.
Padraic Harnan quickly countered that point while Ennis’ first effort from play had Moynalvey in front before the third minute had passed.
