An understrength Moynalvey second team suffered a 4 point B league defeat when visiting Rathkenny on Tuesday, June 10th.
Rathkenny 1 – 12 Moynalvey 0 – 11
The first half was a tight affair with the hosts goaling to hold a one point half time lead on a scoreline of 1 – 4 to 0 – 6, Moynalvey’s scores coming from Ciaran Ennis (2), Ray Ryan, Stephen White, Ger McHale and Feidhlim Cunningham.
Despite the Moynalvey men’s valiant efforts, they were outscored by 0 – 8 to 0 – 5 in the second half with the Moynalvey points courtesy of Ennis (2), Ray Ryan (2) and Martin Ryan. And so Rathkenny secured a merited win ahead of the Junior C championship clash between the same two sides this coming Sunday in Walterstown.
