The Broadway challenge is a new fundraiser going to hit the country by storm and Meath GAA have taken the challenge on Friday 7th October 2016 in Knightsbrook Hotel, Trim.
Broadway is quite like the format of the highly successful Strictly Come Dancing fundraisers only instead of couples dancing it is in groups. Ten groups of ten people will compete to earn the accolade of The Royal County Broadway Winners. We have a team of the Meath Senior Footballers/Hurlers and Past Players along with the Meath Senior Ladies. The rest of the teams are made up of people from all the different clubs across the county.
Each dancer is asked to bring in sponsorship of €200.00 and try to sell 10 tickets. Sponsor cards are optional to bring in more votes for your team. Anything brought in after the initial €200 is put towards votes for your team. Training will take place one night a week, the group will be split into 2 groups of 5 teams per night to train and all training is taking place in Dunganny from 7.00 to 10.00 p.m.
It is a great chance to come together to learn the moves from Broadway and get to know new people along the way. It is all about fun, learning the moves and you never know it may be just the break you need to make it to the big time!
Anyone interested in taking part can contact Denise Farrelly on 087-6755164.
