By now all clubs should have received their allocation of 100 tickets for our Páirc Tailteann Development Draw. As pointed out by our Cathaoirleach and myself at a recent Coiste na Mí meeting in Aras Tailteann, the proceeds of this draw is to undertake remedial work on Páirc Tailteann under Health and Safety and also to increase capacity. Some of this work has already taken place.
Clubs should note the following:-
1. Páirc Tailteann is the Counties premier ground where an exceptional number of games takes place throughout the year.
2. Clubs request that their teams get some games at least in Páirc Tailteann .
3. We endeavour in as far as possible to ensure that underage finals are played in Páirc Tailteann.
4. We endeavour in as far as possible that Cumann na mBunscol finals are played in Páirc Tailteann.
5. We will also endeavour in as far as possible to ensure that Páirc Tailteann be used for fundraising purposes going into the future for activities such as the up coming American Football double header on 31st August 2012.
6. Páirc Tailteann benefits the economy throughout County Meath on match days and generates employment within the County.
7. Clubs by selling the 100 tickets @ €50 each can in turn fundraise €2,000 for themselves and only the proceeds of the first 60 tickets i.e. €3,000 is for the Páirc Tailteann Development Fund. Further tickets in excess of the 100 are available on a 50/50 basis.
All clubs must buy into this fundraising draw as we need to raise in the region of €200,000.
A member of the Fundraising Committee will contact you on a regular basis to see how ticket sales are progressing.
There can be no excuse for not selling the tickets and any club not raising the €3,000 for the Páirc Tailteann Development will be levied accordingly to bring their contribution up to the required €3,000.
It is now many years since we did a fundraising draw and you all know now what work is required to be done in Páirc Tailteann.
I would ask you all to give this draw your 100% and together we can make this happen and bring Páirc Tailteann to its rightful place as a great pitch and County grounds.
