The concession of a late goal and point meant Moynalvey had to settle for a share of the spoils in this A league Division 4 clash played in Kilbride on Sunday morning.
Kilbride 1 – 10 Moynalvey 1 – 10
Moynalvey started better and with Willie Byrne in inspirational form, they led by 0 – 2 to no score after ten minutes with Byrne and John Donoghue pointing. However Kilbride battled back to level before further points from Donoghue, Byrne and Ciaran Ennis as well as a speculative effort from Byrne which ended in the net meaning Moynalvey led by 1 – 5 to 0 – 5 at the interval.
Another Byrne point on the resumption meant Moynalvey led by 4 points and this cushion was maintained up until 5 minutes to go when a long ball was punched to the net to leave only the minimum between the sides. Kilbride then equalised with the last kick of the game meaning the two sides that were relegated from Division 3 the season before finished all square.
Moynalvey now have three league points after two games and next up is the visit of table toppers Drumbaragh on the weekend of St Patricks Day.
