Moynalvey continued their winning start to the minor league with a victory over local rivals Summerhill. Both teams were forced to field without a number of key players but it was Moynalvey who had enough inspirational leaders left to guarantee success.

Led by county panelists James Kelly and Anthony Forde it was Moynalvey who got the better start with a Kelly pointed free and a goal from Eamonn Walsh before Summerhill got on the score board and this was as close as they got. With Kelly and Forde kicking five points between them in the first half Moynaley lead by 1-06 to 0-04 at half time.
Moynalvey opened the second with three unanswered Kelly points and a Cathal McCabe point, which put the game beyond Summerhill. Best for Moynalvey were Shane Browne, Anthony Forde, Cathal McCabe, James Kelly and Chris O’Malley.
