Moynalvey lost out to Syddan by two points in this opening round fixture of the Junior ‘C’ Football Championship played in Bective on Sunday evening May 1st.

Despite dominating possession in the opening period Moynalvey found themselves only a point ahead at the break on a score line of 0-4 to 0-3, with Luke Duffy & Ciaran Ennis sharing the scoring. Moynalvey added to their advantage after the restart with Ennis adding a further two points to leave the men in maroon and white ahead on double scores, 0-6 to 0-3. However for the remaining 23 minutes Moynalvey failed to add to their tally and Syddan’s purple patch in the final 10 minutes saw them hit five points to give them victory on a 0-8 to 0-6 score line.
