FÉILE Péile Na nÓg – Friday 29th June – Sunday 1st

For the first time in 26 years Meath are due to host the Féile Peile na nÓg, this year along with counties Louth & Down over the weekend of Friday 29th June – Sunday 1st July.

Moynalvey will host 2 Clubs, one from Mayo – Parke Keelogues Crimlin Boys team and one from the UK – Lancashire Girls team. We look forward to making next weekend a most memorable event for both our visitors and our own U-14 Féile Boys & Girls Teams (and parents), one that will last in their memories forever.

Our boys team will compete in Group D of Div. 11 alongside our visitors Parke Keelogues Crimmlin, Boardsmill and Cortoon Shamrocks from Galway.

Our Girls team will compete in Group C of Div. 7 alongside our visitors Lanchashire, Dunsany and Delaware Gaels from Philadelphia, USA.

Féile Peile na nÓg is a national festival of Gaelic football for boys and girls under 14 years of age.  It was first held in Cavan in 1982, with a total of 40 boy’s teams participating. Girls did not participate until 1994. In 2018 a total of 288 teams will take part in Féile Peile na nÓg – 176 boys’ teams and 112 girl’s teams. Féile Peile na nÓg involves the whole club, the whole community, our local schools, our referees, host families as well as social, cultural and civic authorities. Féile is special and is one of the best weekends in the GAA calendar. This festival is about young people celebrating their love of Gaelic Games, bonding communities, allowing friendships to be made, providing educational opportunities and above all having fun.
