Moynalvey suffered a comprehensive defeat to visitors Syddan in the Div. 1B A League on Saturday evening March 25th.
Moynalvey 0-9
Syddan 3-14
The heart and determination to grab a late win against Rathkenny in round one was clearly amiss in this second game of the A League, as Syddan had a comprehensive fourteen point win over host side Moynalvey.
An early David McLoughlin point for Moynalvey was as good as it got in the early stages as Syddan had built up a 1-3 to 0-1 lead with the goal by full forward Daire Rowe.
Just on the stroke of half time Sean Clare netted Syddan’s second goal to leave the visitors with a comfortable ten point lead, 2-8 to 0-4. Moynalvey’s first half scores coming from McLoughlin (3) and Shaun Deering.
Although the outcome was essentially put to bed in the opening half, Moynalvey did account for themselves a little better in the second half adding five further points to their tally, two more for McLoughlin and three for Darren Brennan.
A third Syddan goal, a second for Daire Rowe meant Syddan headed back to North Meath deservedly with the two point on offer on an impressive 3-14 to 0-9 score line.
