Do you think you are the highest kicker of a ball in the country? This Sunday June 19th a competition will be held to find the highest kicker of a ball in the country. The ‘Cic Ard’ will take place at the Trim Haymaking Festival in association with the Aware Charity. Contestants will have the option to kick either a standard O’Neills GAA ball or a rugby ball which must be from the hand. There are specially erected goalposts which can stretch up to 120ft into the air and there will be no controversial umpiring decisions as the umpires will be in cherrypickers, high in the sky.
The winner of the highest kick will receive a specially commissioned Tara Steel & Engineering trophy and then a head to head will take place between the rugby kicker and the O’Neills kicker at 3.30pm.
The overall winner will receive €1,000 of jerseys/sports equipment for their nominated club!!
This is a fantastic prize as clubs struggle to make ends meet and support their players. Prize is very kindly donated by Pat Farrelly & Partners, Veterinary Surgeons, Trim and Tara Steel & Engineering Ltd., Navan.
We hope plenty of our players will turn up to chance their arm and support clunman Frank O’Sullivan who is involved in the running of this event. This is a very worthy cause, depression primarily affects young people and this event will allow help young people.
Entry is €5 for 3 attempts.
