Ciara earlier in the year claimed her first national title at the National Stadium with a 16-13 victory over Caoimhe Dollard from Portlaoise in the All Ireland Novice’s Championship. Ciara’s growing reputation in women’s boxing has been enhanced even further, as she has reached the semi-finals of the 2012 National Intermediate Championships which are due to take place at the National Stadium tomorrow evening December 7th. Moynalvey lady Ciara who trains and fights under the Paulstown club in Kilkenny is set to take on Niamh Ball of the Trojan club in the semi-final of the 60kg division. The 2012 SPAR European Cross Country Championships take place this Sunday, the 9th of December in Budapest, Hungary. Moynalvey/Kilcloon athlete Sara Treacy, sister of Moynalvey GFC footballer Daniel, has been included in a 30 strong Irish team. Sara having represented Ireland in previous years as part of the U-23 team is this year stepping up to the Senior team. Last year Sara won the All Ireland Inter County Cross Country Title, while also claiming the U-23’s title in the same race. This achievement earned her a place on last years U-23 Irish team in the European Cross Country Championships in Slovenia. Best of luck on Sunday Sara from Moynalvey GFC.
